Praise Ban on the Import of Reptile Skins and Furs

Target: A.K. Bhalla, Directorate General of Foreign Trade

Goal: Thank India for banning the import of reptile skins and chinchilla, mink and fox furs.

After hearing about the torture and pain animals trapped on fur and leather farms face, India decided to ban the import of reptile skins and chinchilla, mink and fox furs. This is great news since this will lower the demand for the furs and skins and hopefully lead to fewer deaths.

Animals trapped on fur and leather farms face unimaginable horrors daily. They are often confined in small, dirty cages and have limited access to food and water. It is not uncommon for the animals to have open wounds or untreated injuries. The animals are severely neglected and treated as objects rather than living, feeling creatures.

Sign this petition to thank India for making the compassionate choice and banning the import of reptile skins and certain furs.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Bhalla,

Recently, you decided to ban the import of reptile skins and chinchilla, mink and fox furs. I was ecstatic to hear about this news. Now, fewer animals will be tortured and killed for their furs and skins since demand will be lower.

Animals trapped on fur and leather farms face misery, pain and torture daily. They are often confined in small, dirty cages where they have limited access to food and water. They are neglected and typically have untreated infections, wounds or other injuries. These animals are treated as objects rather than feeling, living creatures.

Thank you for standing up to the fur and leather industry and no longer supporting this cruel trade. I can only hope more countries follow in your footsteps.

Sincerely,

Thank you so much, India! Hopefully other countries will do the same. There is much more terrible abuse going on as well, which I hope will also be investigated and stopped, such as factory farming. Thank you for being a leader in animal protection.
