Target: Bobby W. Langston, II, Chief of Police in Rolesville, North Carolina
Goal: Fire the police officer who allegedly slammed a female high school student into the ground and made her go limp.
A police officer in Rolesville, North Carolina was allegedly recorded on video picking up a high school girl and violently slamming her into the ground, where her body then went completely limp. There is no justification for this officer using such brutal force on a teen girl. Demand this officer be fired for his alleged violent lack of judgment and self-control.
A disturbing video posted to Twitter appears to show Rolesville police officer Ruben De Los Santos body-slamming a student to the ground at Rolesville High School as a crowd of students watch. Witnesses have said the female student was battered by the officer after she attempted to break up a fight involving her sister.
The officer has been placed on administrative leave, meaning he is on a temporary leave with his pay and benefits intact. Officers are supposed to be trained to de-escalate situations, with special training for dealing with high school students. This officer does not appear to have sound judgment with this apparent excessive use of force toward a teenage girl. By signing this petition, you will demand that officer Ruben De Los Santos is fired for his alleged violent actions.
Dear Chief Langston,
As you know, a disconcerting video was posted to Twitter showing one of your officers apparently picking up a female high school student and slamming her into the ground where her body then went limp. To make matters worse, this all happened in front of a crowd of impressionable high school students.
The job of police officers is to protect and serve, yet this video appears to show your officer doing the complete opposite. This kind of alarming violence toward a teenage girl has nearly no justification. I demand you fire this officer for his hotheaded actions and lack of reasoning.
