Justice for Dog Found Starving and Left to Die

Target: David W. Prater, Oklahoma County District Attorney

Goal: Punish owner of dog found starving to death in a crate.

A dog was recently found starving, near death, and locked in a crate. The dog, a Boston Terrier named Twinkle, was found by a maintenance man who had entered the owner’s apartment to change light bulbs. According to authorities, there was no food or water left for the visibly emaciated dog, and there was a blanket put over her crate to keep her quiet.

Though authorities have not yet determined how long the dog was locked in the cage, they say that the signs of abuse were immediately apparent. The dog was reportedly confined for so long that she couldn’t walk properly. She had nails so overgrown that they were bending sideways, as well as open sores on her paws and joints from standing on wire for so long. Her fur was also covered in urine and feces, reports say.

According to the dog’s owner, Tramell Baker, he “had just not been taking very good care of the animal.” According to investigators, this looks more like willful neglect. Authorities are recommending that animal cruelty charges be laid against the owner. This would be a felony charge punishable by up to five years in jail and a $5,000 fine. Sign the petition below to ask that charges are brought in this case.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Prater,

A dog was recently found starving to death in a crate. A maintenance man entered the apartment of Tramell Baker, where he found a Boston Terrier left without food or water. The dog was visibly emaciated and showed signs of being left in the crate for a prolonged period of time, including injuries to the feet and joints from standing for so long. It was also reported that the dog, named Twinkle, had nails so overgrown that they were bending sideways, and her fur was caked with urine and feces.

While the owner admitted that he was just “not taking good care of the dog,” animal welfare officers say that this is much worse than that. This alleged willful neglect must not go unpunished. We, the undersigned, ask you to seek justice for this dog by ensuring that its owner is proportionately punished.

Sincerely,

  1. death to who did this to twinkie the dog now.

    • A cancer curse on the bastard. Lock him up and starve him, give him a taste of his own medicine. He must never be allowed to keep an animal again. Punishment should fit the crime and be made Law. Come on law makers show some guts.

    • I agree John. Scum like this should have the same done to them but without rescue ever!

  2. “The only difference between a dog, cat, horse and dolphin and a cow, chicken, pig and turkey is perception. One is no more valuable than another. And yet in this culture, we hold the former animals in high esteem and the latter we brutalize for food. All animals are deserving of respect and freedom from violence. The way to respect others is veganism.”

  5. EL ABANDONO ES LA FORMA DE CRUELDAD MÁS PRIMITIVA, ATROZ Y BRUTAL; CASTIGOS SEVEROS POR PARTE DE LA LEY POR ESTE HORRIBLE ABUSO!!! ENCERRAR SIN AGUA NI ALIMENTO, ENCADENAR A LA INTEMPERIE CRUELMENTE, DEJAR UN ANIMAL SOLO Y MANTENERLO EN SILENCIO PARA QUE NADIE SE DÉ CUENTA, ES UN CRIMEN INFAME E INDESCRIPTIBLE EN TODOS LOS CASOS. NO QUEREMOS TOLERANCIA ANTE LA CRUELDAD POR PARTE DE LA LEY!!!!!!!

  6. Send this monster to jail and live him starve so feels what this innocent dog went through. Never allow him to own a pet again.

  7. Unless that’s the wrong photo, that is a pitbull, the most often abused dog because they’re often kept by lowlifes. His level of care as not being “very good” is a callous understatement. How about we put the owner in a small cage until he looks like that pitiful dog?

To be taken seriously, these petitions must be created more carefully. The photo is clearly of a Pitbull, not a Boston Terrier. If it’s a stock photo for legal or privacy reasons it can easily be labelled as such.
