Target: David Soares, District Attorney of Albany, New York
Goal: Seek the maximum penalty for man who allegedly almost decapitated and killed cat.
A cat was found dead with its head nearly decapitated. Police say they found the poor cat lying on the owner’s lawn, with a slit across its throat. The owner was arrested for the killing, but details surrounding the motive have yet to be released.
A cat is a small, innocent, and defenseless creature who’s no match to a grown person. There’s no justifiable cause for violently murdering this poor animal. Anyone who’s capable of this degree of animal cruelty could do the same to other innocent beings if he isn’t stopped.
The cat’s owner, 45-year-old John Gehrlein, is scheduled for court over the incident. People get away with brutally killing innocent animals every day, and this man could be no exception. That’s why it’s important that we put pressure on the authorities to seek justice for this cat before it’s too late. Please add your signature to this petition to demand that Gehrlein receive the most severe penalty possible and a permanent ban from owning animals, if guilty.
Dear Mr. Soares,
A cat’s throat was slit in a gruesome attack that left the animal nearly decapitated. Police found the dead cat, who’d allegedly been killed by its owner and left on the front lawn.
This is a disturbing case of animal murder that could only be carried out by a violent person who’s extremely dangerous to other animals and people. We urge you to make sure that this defenseless creature is given the justice that it deserves. Please seek the maximum possible penalty and a lifetime ban from owning animals, if the cat’s owner is found guilty.
