Punish Men Who Allegedly Kidnapped and Attempted to Rape Classmate

Target: Vince Ryan, Harris County Attorney

Goal: Seek the most severe possible penalty for men who allegedly kidnapped and tried raping their female classmate.

Three high school students allegedly kidnapped another student and attempted to rape her. One of the accused is 18 years old and the others are 17. According to court documents, one of them grabbed the victim by the wrist and dragged her down their school’s hallway and into a vehicle that was waiting outside. The victim was allegedly driven to a house and dragged into a bedroom where she was asked for sex. When she said no and tried leaving, she was pushed onto the bed. The victim reportedly fled and ran to an elementary school where she called 911.

Police used surveillance tapes from the school to track down the three men. Justin Rashaud Broadway, Ryan Jeng, and Imanuel Rizig have each been charged with one count of aggravated kidnapping, according to court records. Two of the alleged attackers were held, but Jeng was freed on bond.

It is terrifying that any of these men could be allowed bond despite such serious allegations. Other people’s lives, including the alleged victim’s, could be in danger. However, the sad truth is that these types of crimes often go unpunished, which is why it is imperative that we put pressure on authorities. Demand that those found guilty of kidnapping and attempting to rape a teenage girl are severely punished for their horrific actions.

Dear Mr. Ryan,

A high school student was allegedly kidnapped from campus, forced into a vehicle, and then driven to a house where three fellow students attempted to sexually assault her. This young woman could have been raped and possibly even killed had she not fled and called for help.

Many sex crimes aren’t taken seriously, and this one appears to be no exception since one of the alleged attackers has been allowed bond. We implore you to set an example against sexual crimes by seeking the most severe possible penalties for these men, if found guilty.
