Timothy Triggs and Stacey Deleon, the dog’s owners, reported that the dog had been sick and that they were trying to put it down. However, reports show that neither contacted a veterinarian about the dog’s illness or euthanasia. Triggs’ reportedly told police that the dog died within 30 seconds of the initial stabbing.
