Target: Kathleen Wynne, Premier of Ontario, Canada
Goal: Do not allow woman convicted of animal cruelty to continue to own pets.
Five cats were reportedly discovered in a shed, one of them dead in a cage and the other four in poor condition, according to officials. An additional two dogs were found in a garage that, according to reports, was covered in urine and feces. SPCA officials on the scene said the poor animals had no food or water.
The owner, Lori Grant, plead guilty to failing to provide necessary care for the general welfare of the animals. She has since been banned from owning animals and the OSPCA says that it will conduct welfare checks twice a year.
These animals were basically stuffed into death traps and left to suffer for no reason at all. Anyone who can trap multiple animals and just leave them to slowly suffer to death is not suitable as a pet owner.
The pets who were surrendered have been rehabilitated and placed in new homes, except for one dog, whose fate is now at stake. Please sign this petition to demand that this terrible injustice be reversed and the dog finally be freed from this animal cruelty convict’s care.
Dear Ms. Wynne,
Five cats were reportedly found locked up in a shed with one of them was dead in a cage. OSPCA officials also found two dogs locked in a garage full of urine and feces. The animals had no food or water, according to officials.
Unfortunately, while the animals were rehabilitated and placed in new homes, the owner has been allowed to keep one dog. It’s appalling that an animal’s life isn’t worth any more than bi-annual welfare checks. We demand that the decision to allow an animal cruelty convict to keep a dog be reversed, and that this dog be placed into a safe, loving home.
