Don’t Kill Off Mountain Lions and Bears

Target: Bob Broscheid, Director of Colorado Parks and Wildlife

Goal: Stop Colorado from unnecessarily killing mountain lions and bears.

The Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission recently voted in favor of an unproven plan that would trap and kill wild mountain lions and bears and cost taxpayers $4.5 million. This plan is happening in the hopes of figuring out why mule deer populations have declined, however Colorado residents and respected scientists have spoken up about their disapproval of the plan.

Killing these animals will completely throw off the delicate ecosystem established in the wild and could lead to even more problems in the future. In addition, the plan is only taking into account the adult predators killed and not the offspring that cannot survive without their mothers. Another concern is that the black bear’s diet consist mostly of vegetation and deer is not a primary food source.

Sign this petition and demand Colorado rethink this plan before it is too late. There is not enough research done to quickly assume killing innocent animals will help the problem.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Broscheid,

Recently, the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission decided on a plan to kill numerous mountain lions and bears in order to determine the cause of the declining mule deer population. However, many Colorado residents and respected experts such as wildlife biologists have raised concerns about this experimental plan.

Killing mountain lions and bears will completely throw off Colorado’s delicate ecosystem and could lead to even more problems. The animals that are trapped are not the only ones who will die. The offspring of those adult mountain lions and bears will die without their mothers. In addition, bears have a diet consisting mostly of vegetation and there is no reason to believe bears could have caused the decline in mule deer.

Please look into and research all possible reasons for why the mule deer population is declining before you start killing off innocent animals. One very likely reason for the drop in population is human interference including reduced land for these animals to live on.

Sincerely,

  1. I’ll tell you one thing, if Colorado continues with this plan of MURDERING such magnificent animals, there will be no way in hell I would visit this state again! I will make sure that everyone I know passes the word around, too! And to think I thought you were a great state. You sure proved me wrong!!!

    • You are a person with a brain, heart and compassion. If only there were more people like you this world would be a much better place. How dare they think they have the right to murder INDIGENOUS animals that are part of the INDIGENOUS eco system?. Thank you so very much for standing up for the voiceless that are crying out for our help.
May I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Peaceful New Year. xxx

    • A cancer curse on Broscheid. Not fit to be in authority or even live, with such an attitude towards animals. Someone should hunt and kill him.

    • Christine Jones says:

I understand you are upset, me too, but if we arranged our travel plans by avoiding places that had animal welfare problems, we wouldn’t be able to go anywhere on this planet, including our own home states. Just a thought.

  2. James K Bane says:

This sounds more like a plan to increase revenues from licenses to murder lions and bears than a plan to stave off the decline of the mule deer population.

    Disgusting.

  3. Tina shurtleff says:

Only ignorant people kill animals instead of finding non lethal ways to coexist with nature. If things keep up there will be no nature left. Let these animals live like they were put here to live

  4. Wendy Morrison says:

STOP KILLINGS MOUNTAIN LIONS, BEARS, AND ALL OTHER ANIMALS TOO!!!

  5. David Henning says:

Another threat to deer is Chronic Wasting Disease. Colorado should address this instead of predator control. Mountain lions and bears can actually assist by culling out the diseased animals that are going to die anyway.

  6. Mr. Broscheid, you don’t deserve to be a Director of ANYTHING, if you’re this insanely stupid-stupid-stupid, ill-educated, anti-science, and vicious! Better to kill off yourself AND your brutal staff so Nature can thrive, not be demolished! Idiots like you make me sick.

  7. This murderous plan is not backed by science. This stupid plan is bad and wrong. We the people of Colorado demand that this unnecessary and sick plan be stopped, now! The magnificent indigenous bears and lions belong to us and we demand that they live in peace.

  8. PLS STOP KILLING GOD’S CREATIONS!! LEAVE THEM ALONE YOU SINFUL HUMANS !!! GOD IS WATCHING!!! AN EYE FOR AN EYE!! SHAME ON YOU SELFISH N LOVELESS HUMAN!!! SICK !!!

  9. Killing is the action of unintelligent people that do not know how to handle situations creatively! Dear Sir: Who is your God?

  10. Pitty they Don’t kill themselves ASAP!!!!
LEAVE ANIMAL’S ALONE YOU EVIL FILTH OF SOCIETY!!!
    R.I.P ALL ANIMALSXXXXX
