Don’t Imprison Animals in New SeaWorld

Target: H.E. Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Miral Asset Management and the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority

Goal: Prohibit the new Abu Dhabi SeaWorld from holding animals captive.

A new SeaWorld is being built in Abu Dhabi, and it plans on imprisoning more animals at this new location. Since the release of the documentary Blackfish, sales have plummeted at SeaWorld. The international extension is SeaWorld’s hope of keeping the business alive despite whether or not that means imprisoning more animals.

Animals held in captivity face mental and physical hardships daily. In the wild, orcas can swim up to 100 miles a day, while dolphins can swim up to 60 miles a day. At SeaWorld, the animals’ only choice is to swim in countless circles around their barren, concrete tanks. In addition, captive life often leads to premature death.

Sign this petition and demand that Abu Dhabi officials prohibit SeaWorld from holding animals captive in its new location.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Chairman Mohamed,

Attendance and sales have been plummeting at the numerous SeaWorlds in the United States. In hopes of keeping the business alive, SeaWorld is planning on extending and making a new park in Abu Dhabi. This means that SeaWorld is also planning on imprisoning more animals in this new location.

Animals held in captivity face many hardships daily. The lack of stimuli and unnatural habitat leads to many physical and mental problems. In the wild, orcas can swim up to 100 miles a day, while dolphins can swim up to 60 miles a day. At SeaWorld the animals can only swim around in their barren, concrete tanks. It is a sad life for these animals, and one that ends much earlier than those that live in the wild.

Please consider prohibiting SeaWorld from holding more animals captive. No animal should be imprisoned for human entertainment, and it is time to stop exploiting these animals for profit.

Sincerely,

I’ve heard too many stories about whales and dolphins dying in captivity, even ones who pretty much commit suicide. This is a bad idea.

YOU PEOPLE ARE ABUSING and KILLING WILDLIFE TO FATTEN-UP YOUR BANK ACCOUNTS. I CAN’T WAIT UNTIL THE SAYING “WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND” TO FIND YOU ALL. IT WILL.

BOYCOTT SeaWorld AND SAVE ANIMALS. Go to the pool instead, to the cinema,… Let’s watch this cruel, heartless “business” go bankrupt. One by one, we can do it.

  4. No! Do not degrade yourselves by holding these creatures captive. The world is watching…do what is right. Do not keep wild creatures captive for the sake of greed.
