By the time animal control officers found the dog, it had reportedly been dead between four and seven days. The dog’s body was locked inside of a crate, which was positioned in nearly direct sunlight. There was no evidence that food or water had been left for the dog.
Tallahassee Police arrested Terri West and charged her with felony animal cruelty. She is being held on $5,000 bond. Sign below to demand the maximum penalty in this case.
Dear State’s Attorney Meggs,
A dog was found dead inside of a cage. Its owner reportedly moved away and left it behind with no food or water. We demand justice for this innocent dog.
Per court records, animal control had previously responded to the same residence on a complaint. At the time, the dog was reportedly being kept on the patio in direct sunlight. Three women lived in the apartment at that time. West was reportedly the last one to move out and the one allegedly responsible for abandoning the dog.
This cruelty cannot be tolerated. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.
