Target: Cyrus Vance Jr., New York District Attorney
Goal: Man accused of beating a dog that was chained to a tree must be banned from ever owning animals and jailed.
A man is accused of striking his dog in the head while it was chained to a tree. When the police arrived, they say that the poor dog was suffering from a head wound caused by the cruel blow. The dog was also malnourished, according to the police.
Thankfully, the pitiful animal was removed from the owner’s care and taken to an animal shelter. The owner, 50-year-old Anthony Deroose, has been charged with animal cruelty and is scheduled to appear in court soon.
It isn’t uncommon for animals to end up in the hands of animal abusers, even after they’ve been convicted. That is why it’s up to us to make sure that innocent creatures like this dog are given justice and protection from people who might do them harm. Please sign this petition to demand that Deroose be given the maximum penalty plus a permanent ban from owning animals, if found guilty.
Dear Mr. Vance Jr.,
A man allegedly struck his dog in the head, leaving it with a noticeable wound. The poor dog was chained up and defenseless when the owner allegedly struck it. According to authorities, the dog was chained to a tree and suffering from undernourishment.
Anyone who would chain up and abuse their animal has no business owning pets. We urge you to aim for the maximum penalty and permanently ban this man from owning animals, if found guilty.
