Target: Andrew Bridgman, New Zealand Secretary for Justice & Chief Executive
Goal: Demand the maximum penalty for the men accused of attacking a straight man and called him a “homo” because he was wearing a pink shirt.
Two unidentified men allegedly attacked a straight man and called him a “homo” simply because he was wearing a pink shirt. The man suffered minor injuries in the attack. Take a stand against homophobia and demand justice for this innocent man.
Grisly photos show Kent Morgan bleeding after he was attacked in an apparent hate crime. Morgan was walking home from a New Zealand bar when two men reportedly began harassing him, calling him a “pink shirt-wearing homo.” Morgan attempted to ignore the men at first, but was soon attacked from behind. Morgan was able to escape from their hold and fight back, sustaining only minor injuries to his face.
Police are aware of the incident and Morgan is recovering from his injuries, but we cannot let this hate crime go unpunished. Sign below to urge police officers to locate and prosecute these hateful men before they attack another innocent person.
Dear Secretary Bridgman,
A straight man was reportedly attacked by two men and called a “pink shirt-wearing homo.” The attackers fled the scene. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.
“One guy had me in a body hold and the other guy was hitting me in the eye, but I managed to turn myself to the side and slip out of the hold and wiggle my way free,” stated 32-year-old Kent Morgan. The attack occurred outside of a bar in Blenheim and resulted in minor injuries to Morgan’s face. He was wearing a pink shirt at the time of the attack, which appeared to be the attackers’ primary motive.
This blatant attack on the gay community cannot go unpunished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.
