Applaud California for Protecting Pets Trapped in Hot Cars

Target: Jerry Brown, Governor of California

Goal: Thank California for making it legal for citizens to break into hot cars to save animals.

Despite knowing how hot a parked car can get, many people leave their animals trapped inside. These animals often suffer and die due to the extreme heat. However, California has now made it legal to smash a car window when an animal is in danger.

When a civilian sees an animal stuck inside a hot car, they must first call 911 or local law enforcement. After the call, they are allowed to do what they can to help the animal.

This new law not only protects animals, but the people out there helping the animals. Sign this petition and thank California for signing in this new law.

Dear Governor Brown,

Recently, you signed in a new law that makes it legal for people to break into a car in order to save an animal from overheating. I was ecstatic to hear this news.

Despite knowing how hot a sitting car can get, many neglectful owners leave their animals in the car. Unfortunately, many of these animals die. But thanks to you, this new law will protect the animals and the people out there helping them.

Thank you for signing in this new law. I can only hope it will inspire more states to follow in your footsteps.
