“Sacred Trust” for U.S. military Veterans, as proclaimed by our President, is a major concern of the public trust, the federal government’s responsibility to provide care for the Veteran who has served. The management of sacred trust lies squarely upon the Department of Veterans Affairs that operates under the jurisdiction of U.S. Title 38, the “bible” of Veterans rights, benefits and resources. The history of the VA of today, Veterans Administration of yesterday, Veterans Hospital before that and the “Old Soldiers Homes” to begin with is froth with cronyism, corruption, collusion and graft. Google “VA History of Failures” and documentation will demonstrate this claim.
The political land-heist of the VA, West Los Angeles, California, property, therefore, comes as no surprise but it is still a violation of the integrity of our government and our society as the permanent promise given in exchange for it is breached. Special interest driven legislation, H.R. 5936, dismantles the “Crown Jewel” of sacred trust, the “HOME” that was donated in exchange for the federal government’s promise to permanently maintain it as a “at VA, West Los Angeles.
UCLA housing and Brentwood School (exclusively private) stand to gain from this legislation, not disabled Veterans that the land was donated for.
Do the right thing, question the real motives behind this legislation. You will find that it, in part, covers the non-transparent oil deal that could eliminate the need for these fictitious leases that are supposed to end veteran homelessness and help veterans. VETO H.R. 5936, send it back for framing within the terms, conditions, spirit and intent of the Act and the Deed that established the promise and for the input from the larger “National” Veteran demographic that was never given due diligence.
