Target: Bradley Gerwig Jr, Owner of Deer Haven Mini Zoo
Goal: Retire all the animals from Deer Haven Mini Zoo and move them to accredited sanctuaries.
A roadside zoo in Maryland has been holding animals in disgusting conditions for much too long. Deer Haven Mini Zoo holds animals in small, dirty cages and seems to be denying veterinary care to many of the animals. It is time for this zoo to be shut down.
Eyewitness reports claim that a young black bear, Lily, has been seen disoriented and struggling to breath at only 5 years old. She lives in a small concrete cage surrounded by her own feces. In addition, she has a mass on her stomach that is the size of about three footballs.
Lily is not the only one living in these deplorable conditions. A pig was seen struggling to walk because of what seems to be an injured leg.
Sign this petition and demand that Deer Haven Mini Zoo retires all its animals to accredited sanctuaries. This place is no haven for these animals but hell on earth.
Dear Mr. Gerwig,
Your zoo has been holding animals in awful conditions for much too long. Many of your animals are apparently living in small cages surrounded by filth, including their own feces. These animals deserve to roam free and truly know what it’s like to be happy.
Eyewitness accounts reported your black bear acting disoriented, having a mass on her stomach the size of three footballs, and struggling to breath. They also reported a pig that was having a difficult time walking because of what seems to be an injured leg. There is no excuse for letting the animals live in this state.
Please consider retiring all of your animals to accredited sanctuaries. The animal rights group, PETA, has offered to move many of your animals at no cost to you. Please consider taking this generous offer and doing what is right for the animals. These animals deserve to spend the rest of their days roaming in fields, playing with friends and truly knowing the meaning of happiness.
