Target: Yuji Yamamoto, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Japan
Goal: Thank the Japanese government for banning cruel pig rodeos at Seiyo’s carnival.
A carnival in Seiyo, Japan has held pig rodeos for the past 25 years. Humans would tightly cling to terrified pigs as they tried anything they could to escape the madness. Thankfully, this has all come to an end after the government decided to ban the event.
As if the mental stress of these rodeos was not enough for the animals, many of the pigs suffered physical problems like swollen necks and breathing problems. The same pigs were often used for the rodeos which made these mental and physical problems even worse.
Thankfully, these pigs will not have to endure another rodeo. Sign this petition to thank the Japanese government for banning this cruel event.
Dear Mr. Yamamoto,
Recently, Japan decided to ban the pig rodeos at the carnival in Seiyo, Japan. I was ecstatic to hear about this decision. For the past 25 years, pigs have had humans tightly clinging to them as a hectic crowd screams. The event was terrifying for these animals, but thankfully they will never have to endure another rodeo.
The pigs suffered mentally as well as physically. Since many of the same pigs were used, many of them suffered from breathing problems and swollen necks. Hopefully, these mental and physical pains will heal with time.
Thank you for banning this cruel event. If the pigs could speak for themselves, I know they would thank you as well.
