Target: California Attorney General Kamala D. Harris
Goal: Investigate boutique accused of only allowing returns from people outside certain Jewish-dominated neighborhoods.
Customers living in dominantly Jewish areas are reportedly being denied refunds by a California clothing boutique just for being located in certain parts of New York and New Jersey. This is in spite of the fact that the owner of the store, Shan and Toad, is said to be Jewish herself.
The owner, 31-year-old Shana Laub, claims she only implemented the policy after too many people from those areas placed large orders and then returned the products in poor condition. She was “merely trying to survive” according to news reports, and has come under a lot of legal and social fire for her decision.
It is unknown as to what the truth of the matter is. This is why a thorough investigation is in order, so that we can learn the truth and then decide what actions need to be taken. Sign this petition to demand a proper investigation of Shan and Toad.
Dear Ms. Harris,
A children’s boutique has been accused of discrimination due to their controversial return policies that involve not allowing customers from certain parts of New York and New Jersey their money back for returns. Anger and cruel allegations have been leveled at one of the proprietors, accusing her of antisemitism. The woman claims she is only implementing such a policy to protect herself and her business from crooked customers who had been returning damaged merchandise and demanding their money back.
The truth of this matter should be discovered before any actions are taken. Please allow a thorough investigation of this boutique to be conducted for the sake of both the customers and the owners’ sake. Both actual discrimination and false accusations of such are serious matters that cannot be left unattended.
