Target: Martin Hojsik, Chief Program Officer
Goal: Thank rescuers for risking their lives to save 16 animals from the “worst zoo in the world.”
After mummified corpses of animals left to die of starvation were spotted among the living creatures, the Khan Younis Zoo, stuck in the middle of war and violence in the Gaza Strip, was dubbed the “worst zoo in the world.” The zoo went from having 65 animals down to just 16. After much deliberation, Four Paws International was allowed into Gaza and was able to start the daring rescue mission for the final 16.
The 16 animals were made up of monkeys, birds, tortoises, porcupines, an emu and a tiger. Four Paws Rescue was able to save all the animals and bring them to new homes outside of Gaza. Many were brought to a sanctuary in Jordan, while one even found refuge all the way in South Africa.
Sign this petition and thank Four Paws International for not only saving these animals, but risking their own lives in the process.
Dear Mr. Hojsik,
Recently, your team went into the war-stricken Gaza Strip and risked their lives all in order to save 16 animals from the “worst zoo in the world.” After much negotiation, your team was given the okay to enter Gaza and start the dangerous rescue mission.
Thanks to the dedication and work ethic of your team, all 16 animals made it out of Gaza alive and are currently thriving in their new homes. For years these animals were neglected and denied everything natural to them. Many were forced to live next to the mummified bodies of their friends. It is heartwarming to know they will never have to live like that again.
Thank you for everything you do for animals worldwide. Thanks to you, these animals’ lives are now filled with love and hope.
