Target: Criminal Department of Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge
Goal: Make sure former judge is brought to justice for allegedly sexually exploiting vulnerable young men.
Former Judge Joseph Boeckmann has been accused by dozens of young men of extorting sexual acts, spankings, and sexually explicit pictures in exchange for lighter sentences, reduced fines, and monetary benefits. One of the allegations against Boeckmann came from someone under 18. The former judge is accused of using his position to target poor men in desperate circumstances. According to the New York Times, over 4,500 explicit pictures have been gathered.
This issue came to light in 2014, yet there have been no criminal charges filed. Boeckmann was forced to stop hearing cases in 2015. At this time, he was still entitled to enjoy his full taxpayer funded salary and benefits. He resigned in May, but despite the overwhelming evidence and number of claimants, he denies the claims made against him.
It is clear that this former judge has gotten preferential treatment from the justice system. If he had not been in a position of power then he would have been charged months ago. It is time that the American justice system had justice for all, and not just the elite.
Sign this petition below to help convince the Criminal Department of Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge to formally charge Joseph Boeckmann for his alleged crimes and ensure that everyone in America has equal protection under the law.
Dear Attorney General Rutledge,
Given the severity of the crimes that former Judge Joseph Boeckmann has been accused of, he must be formally charged for his alleged misconduct. He has been accused of using his position of power to obtain sexual favors and sexually explicit images from young men in exchange for money, lighter sentences, and reduced fines. There have already been over 4,500 explicit images collected as evidence against him, and one of the accusers is under the age of 18. This is clearly more than just a civil matter.
This appears to be not only an abuse of power and betrayal of trust requiring a resignation, but a grave criminal offense requiring immediate action. He has gone far too long without being formally charged. Review of these allegations began well over a year ago, yet he has not faced the normal consequences of such accusations.
I am urging you to take speedy action against someone who has been accused of abusing his power. Please show that the justice system takes all suspects and accusers seriously by formally charging former Judge Joseph Boeckmann immediately.
