Target: Eric Pederson, Mascotte Police Chief
Goal: Push for the maximum sentence against woman who allegedly held a little girl’s dog at ransom before brutally throwing it.
A woman allegedly held a 9-year-old child’s dog for ransom money, then, according to witnesses, threw the poor animal over a fence “like garbage.” Police say that the dog, named Lucy, had been missing for three days when the young owner spotted her at a woman’s home. The 57-year-old alleged dog-napper demanded $20 from the child, who a neighbor says was heartbroken because she didn’t have the money to get her beloved pet back.
Victoria Fernandez, who has been charged with animal cruelty, became agitated and aggressive and threw the poor dog over a fence, police say. This is a sickeningly cruel way to treat a child and an animal. It seems that this woman has no regard for the lives of animals or the feelings of children. Please add your signature to the petition below to demand that justice is served on behalf of the poor dog and child who endured this cruelty.
Dear Chief Pederson,
A dog was reportedly taken and held for ransom by a woman demanding money from the 9-year-old owner. A witness says the poor little girl was crying because she didn’t have the money to get her pet back. When police arrived, they say the woman became aggressive and threw the dog over a fence.
This woman deserves to reap the maximum penalties for her cruel crimes against two innocent beings. Please help see to it that justice is served for the little girl and her dog.
