Target: Petronel Nieuwoudt, Founder of Care for Wild Africa
Goal: Thank rescuers for saving a baby rhino from the poachers who killed his mother.
A baby rhino, now named Zac, was found lying next to the body of his dead mother in Kruger National Park. Thankfully, Care for Wild Africa stepped in just in time and was able to save the baby.
Poaching is an unfortunate reality these animals face daily. Over 1,000 rhinos were killed in South Africa last year and the price of rhino horn is going up in the black market. A kilogram of rhino’s horn is now worth $100,000. Poachers are becoming so desperate and greedy that they are now killing baby rhinos for their small horns.
Thankfully, that will not be the case for Zac. He is currently under the care of Care for Wild Africa and is doing well. Sign this petition and thank Care for Wild Africa for all they do to help Africa’s wildlife.
Dear Ms. Nieuwoudt,
Recently, a team of rescuers from your organization came across a baby rhino laying next to his dead mother in Kruger National Park. Thankfully, your team got to him just in time and was able to save him.
Unfortunately, the price of rhino horn is going up in the black market which means poachers are even more willing to do whatever it takes to get their hands on the cash. This greed and desperation has lead poachers to kill baby rhinos for their small horns.
Thankfully, this was not the case for the baby rhino, now named Zac, that your team found. He is is good health and being taken care of under your protection. Thank you for all that you do for Africa’s precious wildlife. They need protection now more than ever.
