Target: Lee Barton, Detective Senior Constable of Melbourne, Australia
Goal: Find and severely punish whoever is responsible for suffocating a dog with duct tape.
A nine-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier was reportedly suffocated with duct tape by a cruel intruder who’s still on the loose. The poor dog, named Toby, reportedly died in his owner’s backyard, which means that someone went to the home and deliberately killed him. Authorities said the incident appears random since there were no reports of Toby being a nuisance. The detectives spoke kindly of Toby, telling outlets that he was a friendly rescue dog who would never harm anyone.
The owner, a 71-year-old widow, had adopted Toby from an animal hospital five years ago. She has already experienced enough heartbreak and loss, and now she has to grieve for her poor dog who was violently murdered.
The person responsible for this senseless animal violence is a danger to other pets and society as a whole. Police urged any witnesses to come forward with information about the case. It’s imperative that this individual be found and punished before they escape justice. Please add your signature to the petition below to help bring Toby and his heartbroken owner the justice they deserve.
