Target: Geoffrey D. Lurie, CEO of The North Face
Goal: Thank The North Face for replacing animal silk with cruelty-free silk.
A popular outerwear company has made the decision to switch to cruelty-free silk. The North Face is collaborating with the company Spiber in order to develop the best cruelty-free replacement for a material made from the hard work of animals.
The North Face’s Moon Parka was made using Spiber’s cruelty-free silk. The silk is made by combining sugar, salt and fermented yeast. The ingredients are so simple yet make something revolutionary. This is just the beginning for this new material. Soon leathers, feathers, and other animal-derived materials could be replaced with this alternative.
Sign this petition and thank The North Face for making the humane choice and leading the way in cruelty-free materials.
Dear Mr. Lurie,
Recently, The North Face began collaborating with the company Spiber. Spiber makes cruelty-free materials including silk which you are now using on your products–one of them being the Moon Parka.
Not only is this a humane choice, but it is also a sustainable choice. Products derived from animals use lots of resources and produce lots of waste. By switching to this new cruelty-free material, you are helping reduce The North Face’s carbon footprint.
Thank you for making this switch and leading the way in cruelty-free materials. I hope more companies follow in your footsteps.
