Prosecute Cop For Shooting Unarmed Therapist With Hands-up

shooting

Target: Rick Swearingen, Commissioner of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement

Goal: Punish the police officer who shot an unarmed behavioral therapist who was trying to help an autistic patient.

A police officer shot an unarmed man while he was lying on the ground with his hands up. The man, a behavioral therapist, was only trying to help his autistic patient. Demand the maximum penalty for the officer involved in this unjustified shooting.

Charles Kinsey was shot with his hands in the air after officers were called to the scene where a 23-year-old autistic patient had an outburst. The original call reportedly informed the officers that both men were unarmed. The victim also made this clear to officers prior to the shooting, stating the autistic man was holding a toy truck.

Kinsey sustained a gunshot wound and is fortunately recovering from the multiple shots fired at him. Sign below and demand the maximum penalty in this case.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Commissioner Swearingen,

An unarmed behavioral therapist was shot by a police officer after putting his hands in the air. The officer was claims to have been aiming for the autistic patient who was holding a toy truck instead. We demand that you recommend the maximum penalty in this case.

When asked why he shot Charles Kinsey, the officer reportedly replied ‘I don’t know.’ The Dade County Police Benevolent Association stated that the officer was aiming for the autistic man instead. Neither man was armed.

Police officers must possess the skills necessary to interact with unarmed individuals in a safe manner. We demand the maximum penalty in this case.

Sincerely,

First and foremost the officer was intending to shoot the guy who was holding the toy truck, he thought it was a gun. He needs to learn to shoot straight. He missed his target and the poor guy got shot in the leg. How about we end stupid petitions like this one and we concentrate on actual problems instead of made up crap? You are wrong to turn everything into a racial situation, even when it isn’t. How is our country’s people ever going to heal and grow if you keep this crap up?

  2. I think it is easy for all of you here to MONDAY MORNING QUARTERBACK, BUT UNLESS YOU HAVE WALKED A BEAT YOU KNOW NOTHING OK.
Let’s start there, not ONE OF YOU said a word about ONE POLICE OF THE OVER 100 That HAVE BEEN ASSASSINATED THIS YEAR ALONE.
Maybe this is a reason there a little on edge when you have BLACK LIVES MATTERS CALLING FOR THE EXECUTION OF POLICE OFFICERS, and our Fool of a President inviting to the White House For it.
So before you run your mouths go for a Ride-a-Long and see just what they have to deal with because there the ONLY THING BETWEEN THEM AND YOU.

If the police were so intent on shooting the autistic man, then why was the unarmed therapist handcuffed afterwards after being shot in the leg and not the autistic man ? Either this is a lame attempt at cover up and damage control or we’re dealing with a bunch of Keystone cops. Neither one makes Miami’s finest look good.
