Target: Robert Handy, Police Chief of Huntington Beach, California
Goal: Find and prosecute the suspect who allegedly threatened to kill black family.
A man allegedly targeted a black family at their apartment, where he yelled racial slurs and threatened to kill them. According to reports, the unidentified male showed up after midnight yelling racial slurs before throwing a rock through the sliding glass door and riding off on his bicycle. Another resident who witnessed the incident reported that they heard the suspect yell “I’m going to kill you, you n—er.” The witness says that the victims, a man and his mother, live in fear after this disgusting display of hatred.
The police have not found the suspect and it doesn’t appear to be a top priority, even though this could be a hate crime and the lives of the family could be in danger. It’s up to us to put pressure on the authorities to stop tolerating racial hate crimes like this. If something isn’t done, more lives will be put at risk and more people will be forced to live in fear like this family. Please add your signature to the petition below to demand that the authorities do everything in their power to find the attacker and charge him with a hate crime, if guilty.
Dear Chief Handy,
An African American man and his mother are living in fear for their lives after a man appeared at their apartment after midnight to threaten to kill them. The man reportedly threw a rock through the sliding glass door, then yelled racial slurs.
Unfortunately, the racist attacker hasn’t even been found. We urge you to make this a priority and find the suspect and charge him with a hate crime so that this family can live in peace again.
