Black Man Found Dead Hanging From Tree Deserves Justice

Target: Paul L. Howard, Jr., District Attorney of Fulton County, Georgia

Goal: Ensure unbiased, full investigation into death of African American man found hanging from tree.

An African American man was reportedly found dead, hanging by a rope from a tree in a park. Although an autopsy hasn’t yet been performed, the Atlanta Police Department has been quick to share its disbelief that foul play was involved. A growing number of people are expressing concern over this highly suspicious death, since it’s unlikely that an African American man would commit suicide in an open park in the South. Some people are even speculating that this appears to be a lynching.

The victim has yet to be identified, but reports say that the man was between 23-35 years old. This poor young man deserves justice and an unbiased investigation surrounding his tragic death, whether or not foul play was involved. Please add your name to the petition below to urge authorities to ensure that this man receives a complete, unbiased investigation, and justice if foul play was involved.

Dear Attorney Howard,

An African American man was reportedly found dead, his body hanging from a tree. While reports claim that no autopsy has been performed, the police have already told the public that it seems no foul play was involved in this man’s death.

It seems inappropriate and unethical that authorities told the public that no foul play appears to be involved when no autopsy has been conducted to say for sure. Whether or not this poor man was killed, he still deserves a thorough, unbiased investigation and justice, if he was killed. Please see to it that he gets at least that much.
