Target: Leslie Roy Moonves, President of CBS
Goal: Stop CBS from using live animals for its show Zoo.
The popular show Zoo on CBS features an array of different animals. Unfortunately, the network uses many live animals rather than special effects and CGI for the show. Last season, live bears, wolves, big cats, and baboons were used; this upcoming season plans on using wolves, tigers, buffalo, horses, and reindeer.
Animals held in captivity face many hardships. Captivity often leads to mental and physical problems in animals due to the confinement, lack of companionship, and unnatural situations these animals are thrown into. Being in front of cameras is already nerve-wracking for humans, so for animals who don’t understand, the ordeal is terrifying.
Sign this petition and demand CBS use special effects and CGI for the show Zoo. It is cruel to continue using these animals for human entertainment.
Dear Mr. Moonves,
Zoo is a fairly new show on your network that has proved to be popular with audiences. Despite the show’s message about the unfairness of treating animals as objects, your network continue to uses live animals rather than special effects and CGI for the show.
Your network has used bears, wolves, big cats, and baboons, and plans on using wolves, tigers, buffalo, horses, and reindeer for the upcoming season. Animals held in captivity face many hardships and often develop mental and physical problems due to their confinement, lack of exercise and socialization, and the unnatural situations the animals are thrown into.
The new adaptation of The Jungle Book uses all CGI and special effects for the animals in the movie which proves it is possible to make a show without the use of live animals. Please consider using special effects and CGI for your show Zoo. These animals do not belong in captivity for human entertainment.
