Target: Councilor Norman Adams, Mayor of the Royal Borough of Greenwich
Goal: Don’t allow friendly neighborhood squirrel to be killed by pest control.
A friendly squirrel might be murdered as pest control has been called to kill him despite most local residents wanting to save his life. Cyril the squirrel has become part of the community at the Royal Arsenal Riverside residential estate in London. Local residents have dubbed him “the friendliest squirrel in the world,” feed him hazelnuts and greatly enjoy his presence. However, some people have reportedly complained about him “hiding nuts in their pot plants” and have called pest control to remove and kill Cyril.
Local residents are outraged at this proposal to kill their friendly neighborhood squirrel and have banded together to refuse this “assassination ultimately paid for by us residents.” They have told media outlets that “to lose him would be a great shame” as he brings joy to the neighborhood and “is so friendly and lovely that you cannot not smile when you see him.”
Sign this petition urging local authorities to take action to save Cyril the squirrel from being killed by pest control.
Dear Councilor Adams,
Residents of the Royal Arsenal Riverside residential estate in Woolwich have banded together to ensure a friendly neighborhood squirrel named Cyril is not murdered by pest control. This animal has reportedly become part of the community and “brings joy to the neighborhood,” according to local residents, who also call him “the friendliest squirrel in the world.”
Pest control has apparently been called to remove Cyril after complaints that he was burying nuts in someone’s pot plants. This innocent act is not worthy of a death sentence for this friendly and cherished animal.
Please ensure pest control is not called to remove or kill Cyril the squirrel, as the animal is not only innocent but is now a beloved and integral part of the community.
