Target: Tom Vilsack, Secretary of Agriculture, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)
Goal: Thank the USDA for fining Santa Cruz Biotechnology and banning it from using animals to make antibodies.
Santa Cruz Biotechnology (SCBT) has been slapped with the largest fine in USDA history in response to animal welfare violations. The company was charged a $3.5 million penalty and banned from using animals to make antibodies.
The abuse and neglect was so bad at SCBT that the company has been cited over 40 times in just five years. SCBT even lied to the USDA by saying a facility that held over 800 goats did not exist. Thankfully, goats will no longer be abused and neglected by this company.
Sign this petition and thank the USDA for taking a stand against SCBT and saving countless goats from unnecessary death and injury.
Dear Mr. Vilsack,
Recently, the USDA took a big stand against Santa Cruz Biotechnology (SCBT). The company has been cited over 40 times in the past 5 years for various Animal Welfare Act violations.
Now, the USDA decided to take things to the next level. The USDA issued SCBT with the largest fine in its history, a whopping $3.5 million. In addition, the USDA banned SCBT from using animals to make antibodies.
Thank you for deciding to end the abuse and neglect that went on at SCBT. Countless goats will now be spared from unnecessary pain, injury and death.
