Success: Families of 9/11 Victims Allowed to Sue Saudi Arabian Government

Target: United States Vice President Joe Biden

Goal: Applaud passage of bill giving the families of Sept. 11 victims the power to sue the Saudi Arabian government.

The Saudi Arabian government is now one step closer to being punished for its role in the terrorist attacks in New York City, thanks to a bill passed by the United States Senate. The Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act, if enacted, would allow families of the victims who died on September 11, 2001 the right to sue the government of Saudi Arabia for allegedly aiding and abetting the hijackers who perpetrated the awful attacks.

At the heart of the matter is the declassification of several documents that allegedly detail possible Saudi involvement in the events, information that should be public knowledge. Calls to release this information and hold the guilty parties accountable were widespread, as seen in this ForceChange petition.

The bill’s passage comes despite strong objections from Saudi Arabia, which threatened to cut financial ties with the United States. By passing this bill, the United States Senate has sent the message that the truth is more important than money. Sign the petition below to thank these legislators for protecting the public’s interest.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Vice President Biden,

I am writing to congratulate you and your fellow senators’ recent passing of the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act. This bill allows the families of the victims who died on September 11, 2001 the right to hold the government of Saudi Arabia responsible for their alleged role in training and assisting the terrorists who killed thousands in New York City.

Your passage of this bill, despite threats from the Saudi Arabian government, demonstrates an admirable refusal to be bullied or intimidated. I applaud your actions, and sincerely appreciate your attempts to protect the American public’s interest.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

this is dangerous. Alleging that the Saudi Arabian government had a part to play in 9/11, especially in the current situation with ISIS, it could lead to mre anti islamic feelings and even violence.

    • Yup a stupid move. guess I should pull my money out of the bank before the Saudis pull their billions out of the U.S.. Can’t wait to see who starts suing the U.S..
