Target: Alex Clattenburg, Pastor of the Church in the Son
Goal: End the use of live, wild animals during the Church in the Son’s sermons.
At the Church in the Son in Orlando, Florida, Pastor Alex Clattenburg brought out a wild, caged lion and lamb during his sermon. The lion was clearly unhappy and anxious in his cage, while the lamb was not surprisingly terrified. News of this event came out a couple years ago and in the pursuing time, there has been no apology from the Pastor, nor any indication of whether the event is still taking place. We must speak up now to ensure this church never abuses animals again.
Animals used for entertainment are consistently forced into uncomfortable situations where they feel stressed and nervous. In addition, these animals are typically kept confined for long periods of time and are denied everything natural to them. These animals are unable to run through the trees and play with friends.
Sign this petition and demand the Church in the Son no longer use animals as part of its sermons. It is cruel and unnecessary to continue this practice.
Dear Pastor Clattenburg,
During one of your recent sermons, you brought out a caged lion and lamb as part of your presentation. The lion was clearly unhappy and uncomfortable and the lamb was terrified.
Animals used for entertainment are deprived of all their natural needs. They are unable to lay out and enjoy the sunshine, run through the trees, or play with their friends. It is cruel to deny these basic needs to wild animals. In addition, these animals are typically enclosed in their cages for extended periods of time.
Please consider no longer using animals during your sermons. It is cruel and unnecessary to do so. These animals should be in the wild enjoying life, not stuck in a cage for people to gawk at.
