Rescue Thousands of Refugees Trapped in Camp

Target: Ban Ki-moon,Secretary-General of the United Nations

Goal: Provide relief to thousands of refugees lacking medicine, food, and water.

Thousands of innocent refugees, including around 3,000 children, find themselves trapped and surrounded by armed forces under the command of the Syrian government in an area near the capital of Damascus. The Khan Eshieh area is hotly contested in a civil war between the government and rebel soldiers, and the conflict has spawned an impending humanitarian crisis as government forces surround the area.

The area is the site of an enormous Palestinian refugee camp, and according to a report from activist group Save the Children, thousands of civilians have been totally surrounded, with the only road in and out blocked by heavy shelling and snipers. Supplies are running dangerously low, with reserves of medicine, food, and and water nearly depleted.

If this conflict is not resolved, it will quickly devolve into a humanitarian disaster. Urge the United Nations to intervene and rescue these innocent refugees before their impending demise.

Dear Mr. Ban,

I am writing to call your attention to an impending humanitarian disaster in Syria. A Palestinian refugee camp has been surrounded, and residents find themselves trapped and surrounded by government forces. Medicine and food supplies are running dangerously low, and if help does not arrive, thousands of civilians, including around 3,000 children, will soon perish.

While the Syrian Civil War is a complex issue that cannot be solved instantly, the needless death of innocent civilians cannot be ignored. I urge you and the entire United Nations to intervene and provide immediate relief to these endangered children and their families.
