Target: E. Chidziya, Director, General of Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority
Goal: Stop Zimbabwe’s sale of wild animals and keep the animals in reserves where they belong.
Zimbabwe is currently experiencing an extreme drought and in order to bounce back, the country is planning on selling some of its wild animals.
The country claims that people interested in buying the animals will have to provide a plan for the housing of the animal, an address, size of the property and a description of the land. However, in the past, Zimbabwe has sold baby elephants to China and these elephants were later torn away from their families, confined to metal cages and covered in wounds.
These animals do not deserve to be taken away from their home and families because the country is experiencing severe weather. Sign this petition and demand Zimbabwe keep its animals wild.
Dear Mr. E. Chidziya,
Zimbabwe is currently experiencing an extreme drought and in response, your country is planning on selling some of its wild animals.
This is incredibly cruel to the animals you would be selling. These animals will be taken away from their families and the only home they’ve ever known to a life of captivity. This is not fair to these animals and they deserve to be kept wild.
Please consider the ramifications of selling off wild animals and try to find another plan to help your country during this difficult time. It is not the animals’ fault there is a drought and they want to stay in their home just like your people do.
