Applaud Rescue of Dog Chained Up in Trash Pile

Target: Connie Cooke, President, Houston Humane Society

Goal: Praise the rescue of a guard dog forced to live among garbage and broken glass for four years.

A dog was recently rescued from an auto shop where it lived in a trash pile for several years. The white pit bull, named CJ, was found chained to the back bumper of a van, forced to live among broken glass and discarded beer cans. In the four years he was kept as a guard dog, CJ was given no shelter to escape the sweltering Texas heat or the wet winter season.

CJ was found only after the owners of the auto shop brought in another severely neglected dog, which caused authorities to take a closer look at the conditions inside the shop. Gabby, a small black dog, was taken to the vet after her leg was hacked off. While Gabby’s owners claimed that she had chewed the leg off herself after she was hit by a car, physical evidence suggested that the story was false.

After Gabby was seized and her owners charged with animal cruelty, investigators were sent to the auto yard. There, they found CJ chained to a vehicle and suffering greatly. Veterinarians found CJ to be suffering from heartworm and mange, and they suspect that he has been mistreated for a very long time.

This kind of drawn-out abuse is tantamount to torture, and could very well have resulted in the deaths of both of the dogs. Now, both dogs will be given a second chance in loving homes after rehabilitation. Sign the petition below to applaud officials for saving CJ from a life of neglect and abuse.

Dear Ms. Cooke,

CJ, a white pit bull, was recently rescued from an auto yard where he was kept chained to the bumper of a vehicle. Kept as a guard dog, CJ was forced to sleep in a trash pile without shelter for an estimated four years before rescue. The dog shows signs of ongoing neglect, including a serious case of mange as well as heartworm.

Now that CJ has been rescued, he will be given a second chance at life in a new home. We, the undersigned, thank you for working to save him and bring charges against his abusers.

  5. Can’t thank you enough for helping CJ and Gabby to have a second chance which they
well deserved. I’m so glad that they are now living in a comfortable home and free of
abused and hunger. Most people can’t even lived there for a few days because of
such horrible conditions but CJ had lived there for 4 years long in hell! You are a very
braved and kind dog and I hoped you live out your life with all the caring and love in the world.

……….. The shortest explanation of karma that I know is: ‘you get what you give’. In other words; whatever you do intentionally to others, a similar thing will happen to yourself in the future. Causing suffering to others will cause suffering to ourselves, causing happiness to others will result in happiness for oneself.

  6. Thank you for doing the right thing, seizing 1 and went there to investigate, well done. Now about these shit humans that are more and more>>>The only way this stops and had been increasing last years is when they know the death penalty after torture will be what they get. First these bastards should be also living like the pit bull, than of the legs should be hacked, by accident of course and than finally they should be left with the leg hacked bleeding, or whatever till they die and we could celebrate.
