Target: Fredy Aboukrat, President & CEO, Tiny Love
Goal: Recall Jittering Giraffe toy that caused an infant to choke on unravelling thread.
A 7-month-old girl is lucky to be alive after choking on an age-appropriate toy. Baby Scarlett’s mother bought the Jittering Giraffe as a present for her daughter and now wishes she’d realized the danger. According to her mother, Scarlett was playing with the giraffe when some of the threads began to unravel and caused her to choke. Scarlett’s mother, Samantha, was nearby and able to rescue her daughter, but fears for what may happen to other children.
Samantha claims she contact the manufacturer, Tiny Love, and was instructed to send the toy back for inspection, but feels they weren’t taking her claim seriously. She also contacted her local Department of Consumer Protection, which says it’s investigating.
Demand Tiny Love recall the Jittering Giraffe before any other children can be hurt.
Dear Mr. Aboukrat,
As the president of a company that makes toys for infants and young children, safety should be your number one concern. At least one mother feels you did not have her baby’s safety in mind when the Jittering Giraffe was created. According to her mother, 7-month-old Scarlett choked on loose threads while playing with the toy.
She also says that when she called Tiny Love to report the incident, she was asked to send the toy back for inspection, but felt so unsure of the company taking action that she also contacted her local Department of Consumer Protection. No mother wants to feel a toy she bought her child puts him or her at risk.
We demand the Jittering Giraffe is immediately recalled to prevent any further choking incidents from happening.
