Target: Ed Brodsky, Manatee County States Attorney
Goal: Punish the man who allegedly locked nine dogs in his backyard and abused them.
Nine dogs were seized from an uninhabitable home. The dogs had visible injuries, were heavily chained, and showed signs of abuse. Demand justice for these innocent dogs.
The dogs did not have food or water available. One had visible injuries to his head, tail, and ears and had been tethered to a tree with a heavy chain. Another dog also had untreated injuries and appeared neglected. The house did not have running water or electricity.
A man allegedly claims responsibility for the dogs but has not cooperated with the investigation. He has been charged with animal cruelty in the past and given only a small fine. Sign below and demand a harsher punishment for this inhumane violation.
Dear Mr. Brodsky,
Police seized nine dogs who were imprisoned behind an uninhabitable house. The dogs were confined and reportedly neglected and abused. We demand harsher penalties for the person charged with this crime.
Tethered by heavy chains, the dogs and had no access to food and water. The house they were connected to did not have electricity. One dog had injuries to his head and tail that required veterinary treatment.
This is not the first time their alleged owner has been charged with animal cruelty. In an unrelated incident, he was reportedly issued a citation and given a fine of $300. He should not have been allowed to have animals after his first offense. Now, nine more dogs have suffered due to his alleged abuse. A fine is not enough. We demand the harshest punishment for the man convicted of this crime.
