Target: Gerald Boarman, Head of Bullis School

Goal: Make good on promises to discipline student accused of posting racist videos on social media by expelling him.

A senior on the Bullis School’s lacrosse team is accused of describing black people using the “N-word” and saying he’d hunt them down and lynch them. His statements were caught on video which was then shared on social media and quickly spread through the student and staff body. The head of the Bullis School, and elite academy in Potomac, Md., issued a statement that the student in question would be disciplined in accordance with the school’s disciplinary process, but has refused to comment on the exact actions taken.

Demand the school shows zero tolerance for these actions and expels the student in question.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Boarman,

A white, male senior at your school is accused of calling black people by the “N-word” and saying he’d hunt them down and lynch them. His remarks were caught on video and disseminated to the school’s students and staff members. In statements following the incident, you indicated the student would be punished, but have not followed up with the specifics of the disciplinary actions taken.

We demand the school show no tolerance for such inflammatory and racist remarks and expel the student involved.

Sincerely,
