Target: John McGehee, State’s Attorney for Rock Island County
Goal: Seek the maximum punishment for those convicted of heading a massive dog fighting ring.
More than 60 pit bulls were rescued after the FBI raided a massive dog fighting ring. They also found narcotics and a firearm on the premises. Demand the maximum punishment for those convicted of this horrific cruelty.
The FBI found the dogs tethered with heavy chains along with a myriad of training equipment consistent with dog fighting. The ASPCA transported the dogs to a temporary animal shelter where veterinarians and animal behaviorists are examining and treating them.
Two men were arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. This is not enough. If the men are convicted of dog fighting, than they must pay for the abuse implemented against the dogs. Sign below and demand the harshest punishment for those convicted of this cruelty.
Dear State’s Attorney McGahee,
Sixty-four pit bulls were seized in the raid against a massive dog-fighting ring. Drugs and a firearm were also found on the premises. We demand justice for these innocent dogs.
The FBI found the dogs restrained with heavy chains and surrounded by dog fighting training equipment. While the two men arrested have not yet been charged with animal cruelty, the evidence must be taken into consideration. Dogs trained to fight in dog fighting rings typically suffer physical and emotional abuse by their owners. They are forced to fight against each other, often to the death.
We must take a stand against dog fighting for the benefit of all. Seek the maximum punishment for those convicted of this cruelty.
