Target: Alexander Konovalov, Russian Minister of Justice
Goal: Prosecute woman who allegedly neglected 56 dogs and 25 cats before dumping them at an animal shelter and ban her from owning animals for life.
A woman who was reportedly breeding animals subjected the 56 dogs and 25 cats she was hoarding to horrendous living conditions. Oksana Platonova allegedly bought severed cow heads from a local slaughterhouse to feed her animals. As a result, the dogs, who were almost all collies, were malnourished and dehydrated. The animals, as well as Platonova’s own children, were reportedly forced to live in a filthy rented property which was covered in excrement. Despite this, police refused to intervene.
The woman then allegedly dumped 50 of her dogs and 17 cats at the local shelter, all of which were poorly fed, badly cared for and had sunken eyes, signaling “the last stage of dehydration” according to vet Mikhail Alekseev who treated the animals.
Shelter owner Vyacheslav Slavin said that this woman has been breeding and mistreating collies for years and that dogs had been removed from her care five years ago. Nonetheless this woman is being allowed to walk free and continue to own and breed animals.
Sign this petition urging authorities to severely prosecute this woman and ban her from keeping animals for life.
Dear Mr. Konovalov,
A woman named Oksana Platonova has reportedly wrecked numerous rented homes in Siberia and allegedly subjected 56 dogs, 25 cats and her own three children to horrendously unhygienic living conditions. She then dumped most of the animals at a local shelter. According to the veterinarian who treated them, the animals were poorly fed, improperly cared for and had sunken eyes, a sign of severe dehydration.
Malnourished dogs had already been removed from this woman five years ago. Despite this, she is being allowed to continue owning and breeding animals.
We demand that this woman is immediately prosecuted and banned from keeping animals for life.
