Justice for Woman Allegedly Attacked and Ignored by Bystander

Target: Fu Zhenghua, Deputy Minister of Public Security

Goal: Enforce legal consequences for all bystanders who condone violence against women.

A Chinese woman was allegedly brutally attacked in a hotel hallway. Video footage shows the woman crying for help while an onlooker stands idly by. Demand strict consequences for all bystanders who allow violence against women.

The woman was reportedly attacked while trying to enter her hotel room. The man allegedly approached her from behind and pulled her to the ground, trying to choke her. A hotel worker witnessed the event, per the video, and reportedly briefly approached the attacker before moving away. It was only when a female guest allegedly intervened that the attack ceased.

In China, domestic violence is considered a private matter. Traditionally, bystanders will not intervene when they see a man attacking a woman. This is unacceptable. Sign below to demand justice for this victim and take a stand for women’s rights.

Dear Mr. Fu Zhenghua,

A woman was allegedly thrown to the ground and choked in a hotel hallway. A bystander reportedly did nothing to stop the attack. We demand legal consequences for those who condone violence against women.

A man reportedly attacked a woman as she tried to enter her hotel room. The woman allegedly screamed for several minutes, receiving no assistance. Video evidence shows a hotel worker briefly approaching the attacker before retreating. The attack allegedly only halted when a female guest stepped in.

A new law, enacted last month, is meant to combat this distorted way of thinking. However, this incident clearly shows that the law is not working. Legal consequences must be enforced in this and all cases of  violence against women. The well-being of all Chinese women is at stake.
