Target: Joseph O. D’Arco, MPA, Borough Health Administrator

Goal: Immediately shut down pet store accused of confining puppies in a van overnight.

Over 60 puppies were found confined in a van owned by a pet store. Authorities state that the puppies were covered in feces and forced into cages too small for comfort. Demand the immediate shut down of this pet store.

It was 38 degrees inside of the van that night, authorities claim. Police discovered the van in the parking lot behind Just Pets, the pet store in question, after they heard the dogs barking. What they found was horrifying. Reportedly covered in feces and stuffed into tight cages, the dogs whined and cried. Fifteen of the dogs required veterinary care.

This is not the first time that Just Pets has been accused. Several customers have reported unsanitary conditions and animal cruelty. The store owner disputes all charges and the case is still under investigation. Sign below and demand that the health department close this establishment permanently.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Administrator D’Arco,

Over 60 dogs were found in a van, reportedly freezing and covered in feces. The van belongs to Just Pets, a pet store that is no stranger to complaints. We demand that you permanently shut down this pet store.

This incident is one of many that concern authorities. The New Jersey Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals recently filed over 267 animal cruelty charges against the owner of this establishment. Now, more dogs have allegedly suffered in his hands.

Fifteen of the dogs found received needed veterinary care. This alleged abuse cannot continue. We demand that you shut down this store and ban this owner from any further interaction with animals.

Sincerely,
