Punish Man Who Allegedly Beat Dog

Target: Chief of Police Melanie Bevan

Goal: Punish man for allegedly beating girlfriend’s dog and breaking the animal’s nose.

Anthony Kidd was arrested in Bradenton after allegedly beating his girlfriend’s dog named Prince, causing a swollen eye, a fracture in the nose, nasal bleeding and a broken tooth. His bail was posted at $1,500 and Kidd faces felony charge of animal cruelty, though the investigation is still underway.

At his first attendance hearing, Kidd claimed that hurting the dog was an accident. Supposedly he saw his child eating the dog’s poop and “threw the dog outside.” According to him, he didn’t know any injuries were incurred. The dog’s owner was out of the house at the time and said she returned home, saw Prince in her bathroom and went to bed. She was unaware something was wrong until her daughter woke her up saying Prince was bleeding.

Prince was taken to the vet twice, the second time by a Detective Cox who was concerned that Prince was abused. The vet determined Prince’s injuries to be the result of blunt force trauma, such as “being hit with force or kicked.”

Bradenton officers are working together with the county animal services on the case against Kidd. However, many animal cruelty cases end poorly in court due to poor investigations. Much of this is because officers and animal services simply aren’t properly trained to handle these sorts of cases. Please sign and urge Bradenton police to do their utmost to see this man put behind bars where he belongs.

Dear Chief Bevan,

Animals often become victims of violent individuals, and the recent case with a doberman named Prince is no different. Anthony Kidd was arrested under charges of animal cruelty after his girlfriend’s dog was taken to the vet with a swollen eye, broken tooth, and a fractured and bleeding nose. Kidd claims it was an “accident” and that he didn’t realize Prince was hurt as he was.

Sadly, many cases like Prince’s end without proper prosecution due to poor investigations. However, in this instance it is more hopeful that the perpetrator will face the time he deserves. With Bradenton officers working with animal services, I am sure there will be plenty of evidence to support conviction. Still, there is always the chance for Kidd to walk free and turn his temper on Prince, another animal, or even his family.

Don’t allow this individual to walk free with such ridiculous justifications. Please ensure he is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

  1. Czerny A. says:

This is totally twisted. Why beat the dog because his child was eating the dog’s poop? The poop shouldn’t have been left around for the child to eat, and the child should’ve been supervised. Why not scold the child instead of abusing the dog? The owner of this poor dog needs to get rid of this moron before he starts beating on her for something his child did.

This dumb ass needs to be bitch slapped!

  3. Angela Rabon says:

In addition to charges against the abuser, the poor dog needs to be removed from the home and put into a loving home. My instincts tell me this is not the first time little Prince has been abused by this nothing. Kidd just got more comfortable with his abuse and it got worse over time.

I think the owner’s (the woman) story should be checked out more thoroughly. Something is not right there. The story states the dog was taken to the vet twice, the second time by the police. I guess we are to believe the owner took Prince to the vet the first time. If she did, why didn’t she know what kind of injuries Prince sustained. I personally do not believe her story unless part of it was just left out of the above and can be explained somehow. CHECK THIS WOMAN’S STORY!!!!

  5. OKAY, ANOTHER PSYCHOTIC animal abuser gets away, $1500 bond! What a disgrace to the county. Are the JUDGES AFRAID of these people?? I WANT my TAX dollars back. JUSTICE OBVIOUSLY NOT SERVED!!
