Target: Jonathan Nielsen, CEO of Backcountry
Goal: End Backcountry’s sale of angora and fur products obtained at the expense of neglected and abused animals.
Online retailer Backcountry sells outdoor wear containing cruelly-sourced angora wool and furs to people all over the world. Unfortunately, the company continues to sell these products despite knowledge of the horrors that happen in the fur industry.
Backcountry puts an emphasis on people’s relationship with nature. It is hypocritical to abuse and confine nature’s creatures for profit while simultaneously encouraging people to take in all the natural beauty this earth has to offer. Angora rabbits and animals used for fur are typically imprisoned in tiny, dirty cages where they are neglected and abused for their coats.
Sign this petition and demand Backcountry stop selling products using angora and fur. It is hypocritical and cruel to do this to earth’s creatures.
Dear Mr. Nielsen,
Your company is based around the love of nature and helping people experience earth’s natural beauty firsthand. That is why I find it very hypocritical of you to continue the sale of angora and fur.
Part of experiencing nature is observing wildlife. In the fur industry, animals are typically held in small, dirty cages where they are neglected and abused. These animals don’t get to experience the grass beneath their feet or running free through the trees.
Please consider ending your sale of fur and angora wool so all of earth’s creatures can enjoy nature to the fullest extent.
