Punish Dog Trainer for Alleged Cruel Overuse of Shock Collar

Target: Stephen Murdock, City Attorney of Edmond, Oklahoma

Goal: Prosecute dog trainer for allegedly misusing a shock collar, causing extreme pain and distress to a dog.

A dog trainer reportedly used a shock collar on a dog because it ran away. The dog, named Nala, showed up at a woman’s house yelping in pain. The woman says Nala was under her car and began “violently jumping and pushing against the window.” When she tried removing the painful device, Nala bit her.

Nala was given back to her trainer, Lukas Miller. Miller reportedly stated that he’s happy with the results he’s gotten through training and plans to continue. The court documents accuse him of “willfully, maliciously, feloniously, and cruelly injuring an animal,” yet his attorney expects him to be acquitted.

This is an inhumane and cruel way to train dogs. The dog trainer could’ve went looking for the missing dog instead of just turning up the shock collar. If this man is let off the hook, more dogs could suffer this inhumane “training.” His uncontrolled use of the device caused an innocent person to be bitten and a dog to suffer. Demand that he be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Dear Mr. Murdock,

A dog was reportedly shocked repeatedly when she didn’t return to her trainer. The dog was found in severe pain and behaving aggressively because of the inescapable agony caused by her shock collar.

A trainer should know better than to torment a dog by using a shock collar just because the dog went missing. We demand that this man be given the maximum penalty for animal cruelty.
