Don’t Remove Access to Women’s Health Services

Target: Florida Governor Rick Scott

Goal: Don’t cut off access to women’s reproductive health services.

Florida Governor Rick Scott signed a bill calling for the end of tax payer funding to Planned Parenthood and similar organizations, as well as increased regulations on abortion procedures. The bill does not only focus on abortion, it also makes it impossible for thousands of women in Florida to have access to essential healthcare resources. These women will no longer be able to afford cancer screenings, birth control or general exams.

Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, stated that “This cruel bill is designed to rip health care away from those most at risk.” This bill is an injustice to women and to the state of Florida. Minimizing resources available to women will only increase health problems throughout the state and lead to more accidental pregnancies due to the diminishing access to birth control.

Sign this petition and demand Florida Governor Rick Scott withdraw his support of this bill and give the women of Florida access to healthcare they deserve.

Dear Governor Scott,

I am writing you today because I am disappointed that you supported a bill that puts access to healthcare out of reach for the women of Florida. This bill stops funding to Planned Parenthood and other similar organizations, which are currently the only chance women have at getting the help they need. Without these clinics, women will not be able to get birth control, cancer screenings or general exams.

I demand you revoke your support of the bill and give the women of Florida the rights they deserve. You owe it to your state to make the right decision and better the lives of the citizens of Florida rather than make them more complicated.
