Target: Paul Bowden, Tifton County District Attorney
Goal: Investigate and punish teacher who allegedly knocked down special needs student in school hallway.
Surveillance footage from a camera at the Tift County Pre-K Center appears to show a teacher knocking down a 4-year-old special needs student. The child’s mother, Sarah Patterson, claims that Amelia Stripling kneed her son in the back, causing him to fall. Stripling was a 20-year veteran special education teacher and should be familiar with rules about touching and pushing students.
Although this incident was reported and Stripling has resigned, no formal investigation is currently underway. Demand that an investigation takes places into this teacher’s alleged actions of possibly knocking down a special needs student and that appropriate actions are taken based on the outcome of the investigation.
Dear Attorney Bowden,
A 4-year-old special needs boy needs your help. Based on surveillance video, it appears that Amelia Stripling kneed a 4-year-old special needs boy in the back, which caused him to fall. The boy’s mother, Sarah Patterson, was horrified by the incident and has hired a lawyer. Although Stripling has resigned, no official investigation has begun. As a 20-year veteran teacher, Stripling should have known better.
We demand that this incident is thoroughly investigated and that appropriate actions are taken based on the outcome.
