Target: William Bratton, New York Police Department Commissioner
Goal: Find and charge the person who allegedly sexually assaulted transgender woman with a hate crime.
A transgender woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in a bathroom at the Stonewall Inn. The location’s history seems to have played a role in the assault as it’s famous for the Gay Rights Movement riot that took place there in 1969. The attacker entered the unisex restroom where he sexually assaulted the victim, then left only to return and repeat the horrific assault, police said.
It seems the attacker deliberately chose the location where he assaulted the victim, meaning this was most likely a hate crime. The poor victim deserves the peace of knowing that her attacker is behind bars, unable to hurt anyone again, but this will never happen if police don’t find and bring him to justice. Demand that the police do everything in their power to find the attacker and charge him with a hate crime on top of sexual assault.
Dear Mr. Bratton,
A transgender woman was reportedly sexually assaulted at Stonewall Inn, a place known for its positive role in the Gay Rights Movement. Police said that the attacker re-entered the unisex bathroom after the first assault and repeated the sick act.
Police have yet to find the monster who did this and the more time goes by, the more this victim’s chance for justice decreases. We urge you to utilize all resources to find this man and include hate crime as part of his charges.
