Justice for Dog Dragged Behind Car

Target: W.H. “Skip” Holbrook, Columbia, South Carolina Chief of Police

Goal: Find and prosecute person who dragged dog behind a car and left it to suffer and die.

A German Shepherd was dragged behind a car by a cruel individual. We need to take action to make sure this poor dog receives justice.

The dog was found fighting for its life behind a building. Its legs, muscles and tendons were completely ripped open. Additionally, a veterinarian who treated the animal said that one of its legs would have to be amputated at some point during its lifetime. Even worse, the dog may die before such surgery can ever be performed.

Despite this horrible tragedy, police have not made it a priority to investigate the case, even though an individual in the same state was recently given a lengthy prison sentence for committing a similar crime. It is important that this case also be dealt with seriously to let animal abusers know they cannot get away with committing vicious acts of animal cruelty.

Demand a full investigation be launched and that authorities suggest the individual responsible be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Another innocent animal is liable to soon get hurt or killed by this hateful person if action is not taken.

Dear Chief Holbrook,

Despite a German Shepherd having been dragged behind a car, an investigation of the case has not yet been launched. It is important that police look into this case to better ensure that other animals will not have to suffer at the hands of this sick-minded person.

Because the dog was apparently dragged behind the car for such a long period of time that its legs, muscles and tendons were completely destroyed. In fact, the dog’s injuries were so severe that a veterinarian who treated the animal said that one of its legs would eventually have to be amputated.

Two years ago another man received five years in prison for dragging a dog behind his truck and another five and a half years for traffic offenses relating to the incident in an effort to send a clear message to criminals that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in South Carolina. Therefore, it is ironic that an investigation has not been launched to try and find the person who may have committed this disgusting crime.

Please do everything in your power to find whoever abused this innocent dog and to further suggest that he be punished to the fullest extent of the law if he is found guilty. Not doing anything will only send a message to criminals that they will not be penalized for committing heinous acts of animal cruelty.

South Carolina has a very weak animal abuse laws….these NEED to be strengthened to make S.C. enter the 21st century!

The politicians and businessmen must realize that this sort of thing being ignored by the local law enforcement, will DECREASE people and businesses moving to S.C. which will negatively affect its’ economy, aside from being the right thing to do.

yes, I agree that might be the case. Our judicial system must stop looking at animals (mammals in-particular)as property. For you meat eaters, you are contributing to the problem when you spend your dollars for animal flesh, it just encourages more abuse, and the mindset that animals are a commodity, not living sentient beings.

You can acquire all the nutrition one needs as a vegan if you put some thought to it. Most vegetables have more protein than animal flesh, then you have your grains.

Some sociopath is living among you, inflicting torture. No one just DRAGS A DOG BEHIND A CAR, he has hurt animals and people before. He needs to be found and dealt with, he is very very dangerous. This is a real sociopath.

  3. Get ALDF onto it. They won’t let go until they’ve found and prosecuted the POS.

  4. Find this dangerous criminal and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. Also check the crawl space at this criminals house…the animal abuse is the crime of a serial killer!!

  5. don hughes says:

Feckless law enforcement! They are as much a problem as the perpetrators of crimes. When the law enforcement refuses to enforce the law, they render the law incompetent, making themselves insubordinate to the law. I have lost all faith in the judicial system in this stinkin country.

I am a veteran. I would never serve or fight for this morally incompetent country ever again, this country and its government have failed the veteran.

  6. Love Caroline Often encouraged my clients to consider opening businesses and investing there. Now I will stay far away and recomend the same for my clients. Folks told me they do not take heinous Animal abuse seriously, now I believe it NO THANKS!! Invest and open so where it’s safe, the test for me is how they handle violent crime.

  7. This poor dog, how horrible, whoever did this needs to be tossed off a high building so they die, i have no use for animal abusers.

  8. Catherine Dugan says:

What a cruel, inhumane person! They should drag this person behind a car and see if he lives!
He needs to spend his life in jail for taking a life!

  9. Caroline Dinnage says:

From everything I see and read about the South it seems they are mostly a bunch of hill Billy hicks who have not moved into the civilised world. Stop the cruelty and weirdness for goodness sake….

  10. Evelyn Ball says:

Find the bastards and drag them to death behind a vehicle. Worthless human garbage!

  11. Find this Son-of-a-Bitch before he does this again. Personally I’d love to see this Bastard endure the same fate as the poor helpless dog – i.e. being dragged by a car. I know … I know … this would never be allowed … but I can wish, can’t I? What I do know for sure is that there is a very special place in HELL for people like this monster who tortured this poor animal. His reservation has been made !!!!!

  12. “The only difference between a dog, cat, horse and dolphin and a cow, chicken, pig and turkey is perception. One is no more valuable than another. And yet in this culture, we hold the former animals in high esteem and the latter we brutalize for food. All animals are deserving of respect and freedom from violence. The way to respect others is veganism.”

  13. drag these animal abusers to the death now.
