Praise Country For Ending Year-Long Tests on Dogs

Target: Simon Kennedy, Deputy Minister of Health Canada

Goal: Thank Canada for ending year-long pesticide tests in which dogs are forced to eat and breath the toxins.

Health Canada has announced that they will be ending their mandatory year-long pesticide tests on dogs. Since the 1980s, dogs have been forced to eat pesticide-laced food or breathe in pesticide fumes every day for a year. After the year of experimentation is done, the dogs are killed and dissected.

Health Canada has come to the conclusion that these tests are not necessary to study the effects of pesticides. The U.S. came to this conclusion in nine years ago and thankfully more and more countries are ending the testing as well. The choice to discontinue these tests will save hundreds of lives every year.

Sign this petition and thank Canada Health for saving countless lives and ending the cruel, unnecessary testing.

Dear Mr. Kennedy,

Recently, Canada Health has announced that it will no longer require year-long pesticide tests on dogs. This decision will save hundreds of dogs every year. Since the 1980s, dogs were forced to eat pesticide-laced food or breathe in pesticide fumes every day for a year. After dealing with this agony for a year, the dogs would be killed and dissected.

Thank you for deciding to spare countless lives in the years to come. It is a huge step forward for animals and hopefully more countries will follow in your footsteps.

  1. I have NEVER seen a dog farming… Why would they have to die for pesticide experiments… We humans use pesticides and farm, I think it’s our problem. Why torture dogs who have no interest in farming or pesticides????? If the animal is not involved and does not get any benefit they DO NOT need to be killed for experiments humans want to conduct. Get human volunteers PLEASE!
