Target: Michael E. Horowitz, U.S. Inspector General for the Department of Justice
Goal: Reprimand FBI agents who allegedly lied to investigators about firing their weapons in an incident that left a man dead.
FBI agents are accused of lying to investigators about firing shots in an incident that left an Oregon protester dead. A report claims the local police were responsible for firing six rounds, including the three rounds that hit and killed the victim. Investigators also say that FBI agents on the scene fired multiple rounds themselves, yet lied on two occasions when questioned.
The district attorney says the fatal shooting was justified and the victim can be heard in a video telling officers that he’s going to see the sheriff and if they want to stop him, they’ll have to shoot him. Despite whether or not the man’s actions warranted his death, the FBI agents should be reprimanded if they lied about firing rounds. Demand the agents be reprimanded if found guilty of the accusations.
Dear Mr. Horowitz,
After an Oregon protester was fatally shot, the FBI agents on the scene reportedly denied firing any shots and lied on two separate occasions when questioned by investigators. The findings allegedly show that local police were responsible for the three rounds that struck and killed the victim, but investigators also reportedly found that FBI agents fired multiple shots as well.
There appears to be no reason to lie about firing shots unless these men had something to hide. We demand that they be reprimanded if found guilty of the accusations.
